The food part of my discussion is and will be covered by the videos and\u00a0this small note tries to present few important tit bits.<\/p><p><strong>There are various ways to strengthen our immunity-<\/strong><br \/><strong>a)<\/strong> Obviously the first part always is to build a strong defence in your body and for that\u00a0leading a healthy life style is very very important.<br \/><strong>b)<\/strong> In addition, what we eat makes a lot of difference and I will keep sharing benefits of\u00a0specific foods in my videos<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3649839 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3649839\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Let\u2019s talk about Lifestyle and I present few tips &#8211;<br \/>a) Sleep-<\/strong> Sleep rejuvenates our body, this is the time when our body is healing itself so\u00a0getting adequate and proper sleep is very important. Following a sleep pattern\u00a0in addition to adequate no of hours is very important. Our body needs to stay in\u00a0rhythm so disturbed sleep patterns do not do good to body. Disturbed sleep, or lack\u00a0of sleep can cause havoc to our immunity which means exposing ourselves to\u00a0potential disease.<\/p><p><strong>b) Regular Exercise-<\/strong> Following a regular exercise routine is very important. Often\u00a0exercise is misunderstood to be equal to spending hours in the Gym and doing\u00a0strong work outs. Building a body in the gym is a personal preference but the\u00a0perception that this is the only form of exercise many a times deter people from\u00a0keeping fit. Exercise in simple terms means\u2014keeping ourselves active, ensuring\u00a0every part of our body gets appropriate exercise. Therefore following a proper\u00a0routine such as walks, doing stretching and Yoga can do as much wonder. Most\u00a0important thing is to ensure the routine is followed and you will see the benefits in\u00a0the form of better health and an active life.<\/p><p><strong>c) Stress-<\/strong> Prolonged exposure to stress plays havoc on body\u2019s overall well-being.\u00a0Anyone who has built a reaction to get stressed quickly usually finds him or herself in\u00a0a difficult position to exit out of that habit. Prolonged long term stress weakens the\u00a0immune system. There are certain techniques we can follow to reduce our stress\u00a0levels-<\/p><ul><li><p>Deep breathing<\/p><\/li><li><p>Meditation<\/p><\/li><li><p>Pranayama (Yoga)<\/p><\/li><li><p>Spending adequate time in doing what we like\u2014be it music, gardening,\u00a0dancing, cooking, painting or any hobby which is to your liking. Most\u00a0important thing is to follow our passion.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Make entertainment a part of your life<\/p><\/li><li><p>Socialise (in today\u2019s world without being dependent on electronic form of\u00a0socialising) &#8212; meet people, spend time, laugh, remember your best\u00a0memories<\/p><\/li><li><p>Learn the habit of positive affirmation whereby you tell yourself and repeat\u00a0the good experiences you have been through in life. Enjoy your achievements\u00a0and learn from the failure.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>d)<\/strong> Sun bathing- venture out in Sun. Exposure to sun also helps immunity. However be\u00a0conscious of any allergies you may have or if you are advised not to do so. In any\u00a0case this very limited exposure also helps enhance Vitamin D levels.<\/p><p><strong>Coming to food \u2013<br \/><\/strong>There are plenty of food items which help enhance immunity. To quote a few<\/p><ul><li>Citrus fruits<\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Red bell peppers<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Broccoli<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Spinach<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ginger<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Garlic<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Turmeric<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Papaya<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Yoghurt<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Sweat potatoes<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Mushrooms<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Poultry<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Almonds<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Sun flower seeds<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Green tea<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Dark chocolate<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Mushrooms<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Shellfish<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Kiwi<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Blueberries <br \/>Etc. Etc.\u00a0<br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>To talk about few of them<br \/>a)<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Citrus Fruits-<\/strong> almost all of them are high in Vitamin C. It is easy to add a squeeze of\u00a0this to any meal. Popular citrus \u00a0fruits include\u2014grape fruit, oranges, lemon, lime,\u00a0amla (gooseberry). Vitamin C is an essential element for continued health.<\/p><p><strong>b)<\/strong> <strong>Red bell pepper-<\/strong> they contain almost thrice the Vitamin C found in oranges. They are\u00a0also a rich source of Beta Carotene. Body converts Beta Carotene into Vitamin A\u00a0which in turn helps to key eyes and skin in a healthy condition.<\/p><p><strong>c)<\/strong> <strong>Broccoli-<\/strong> is packed with Vitamin A, C, E, Fibre and anti-oxidants. It is one of the\u00a0healthiest vegetables<\/p><p><strong>d) Spinach-<\/strong> Similar to broccoli, Spinach is rich in Vitamin C. It is also packed with\u00a0numerous anti-oxidants and Beta Carotene. These help increase the body\u2019s infection\u00a0fighting ability.<\/p><p><strong>e) Yogurt-<\/strong>\u00a0can be a great source of Vitamin D. Vitamin D helps regulate the immune\u00a0system. Pro-biotics found in Yogurt help strengthen the immune system.<\/p><p><strong>f)<\/strong> <strong>Lemon, honey, ginger and turmeric-<\/strong> you can drink a mixture of these in a warm\u00a0water. Our ancient science talks of numerous benefits of these elements. Most\u00a0people end up taking this during cold. They help strengthen immune system. Ginger\u00a0particularly has anti-viral properties and can be used to reduce the discomfort of\u00a0nausea and motion sickness. Lemon juice is high in Vitamin C. Lastly a chemical\u00a0called Curcumin in turmeric helps regulate the immune system.<\/p><p><strong>g) Nuts and Seeds-<\/strong> They are full of nutrients, including phosphorus, magnesium,\u00a0Vitamins B and E. Vitamin E is important to regulate and maintain our immunity.<\/p><p>I will share more tips as we go forward in this series.<\/p><p><strong>In Conclusion-<br \/><\/strong>Proper nutrition will require a varied diet. Eating just these alone won\u2019t be enough to amply\u00a0increase our immune system and it does not matter how many servings we keep having\u00a0without focussing on a combination of all nutrients. In addition serving size and a proper\u00a0daily intake is very important.
